Pastor Adam Mullinax

Pastor Adam is a lifelong resident of Humphreys County. He and his wife, Brittany, along with their four children currently reside in New Johnsonville.
 
After serving in various roles in the church, including pulpit supply, Adam formally accepted the call to ministry in September of 2019. he served two years as Associate Pastor at Missionary Grove Baptist Church in Camden beginning in January of 2020. Since that time he has filled pulpits across middle and west Tennessee on a weekly basis.
 
Adam is excited for the opportunity to serve in a church here in the community that he loves so dearly. He and his family can’t wait to see what The Lord has in store for First Baptist Waverly and our community as a whole.

Steve Shepard

Associate Pastor of Music & Senior Adults

Steve began serving full time at FBCW in September of 2022 after a 6 week stint as the interim. He previously served 21 years at First Baptist Dickson, TN; 9 1/2 years at Heritage BC in Montgomery, AL and 4 1/2 years at West Lonsdale BC in Knoxville. He is a 1984 graduate of Carson-Newman University and 1987 graduate of Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Ft. Worth, TX. Steve is originally from Knoxville. He is married to the former Lori Hughes of Winchester, TN and Huntsville, AL. Lori plays the piano for FBCW and teaches Sunday School. She is also the music teacher at William James Middle School in White Bluff, TN. Steve and Lori have three adult daughters (all graduates of Union University in Jackson, TN), one son-in-law and two grandchildren. Steve enjoys golf, making salsa, grilling and cheering on the Tennessee Vols. GBO & VFL!
